This recipe is a bit vague, but this is how it has been passed down to us.
- 4 eggs
- Put water and salt in a large kettle.
- Cover and put on high heat.
- Break eggs into a bowl with salt
- Add flour until thick
- Drop by spoonfuls into boiling water
- Brown 3 T. butter
- Boil dumplings until done, drain and mix together with browned butter.
- It can be eaten with horseradish or just as is with butter.
