Basic Corn Bread

Ingredients
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour (may use part or all whole wheat)
  • 4 t. baking powder
  • ½ t. salt
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
  2. Mix together cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar.
  3. Make a well and add the eggs, milk, and vegetable oil. Stir until smooth. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 25 minutes.
  4. Serve hot with butter and honey.
