Mom’s Pumpkin Bread

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • ½ t. cloves
  • ½ t. cinnamon
  • ½ t. nutmeg
  • ½ t. allspice
  • ¼ t. baking powder
  • 1 t. baking soda
  • 1 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 t. salt
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ½ cup raisins (optional)
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Combine sugar, cooking oil, and canned pumpkin in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, blend cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, flour, baking powder, baking soda, raisins (if using), walnuts (if using), salt and water.
  4. Stir both mixtures together. Bake in loaf pans for 55 – 60 minutes.
