Whole Wheat Bread

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup cornmeal
  • ⅓ cup quick oats
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 T. brown sugar
  • 1 ½ t. yeast
  • 2 t. salt
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 2 ½ T. vegetable oil
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, quick oats, wheat flour, bread flour, brown sugar, salt, and yeast.
  3. Mix together the water and vegetable oil in a separate bowl. Slowly combine with the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Knead well until dough is nice and elastic. Allow to rise in bowl for 45 minutes.
  5. Form into a loaf, let rise for an additional 20 minutes.
  6. Bake 55 minutes – 1 hour until loaf is nice and golden brown. Ensure that loaf is cooked through; the recipe has a tendency to be doughy.
